This weekend offers participants an introduction to spiritual direction using the metaphors of midwife, teacher and hospitality to explore various ways in which a director “assists a person to discover God’s presence in their life.” Some general questions about direction will be covered as well the director’s responsibility for self care and on-going transformation.

This topic will invite participants into a practical consideration of the significance of dreams within the context of spiritual direction sessions. We'll establish some common ground for working with dreams and demonstrate ways of unpacking dream images with directees, including how they can first remember their dreams

Many people who come to spiritual direction are experiencing grief. This comes in many forms - loss of job, relationship, health, aging, distance from loved ones and ultimately death. This weekend will increase participants understanding of the grief process as well as being introduced to skills to accompany directees who are experiencing some form of loss in their lives
Lecturers: Mrs Eileen Reeks BSc (hons) MAPS, Registered Psychologist
Eileen has worked as a psychotherapist with Anglicare for many years. She is an accredited Myers Briggs trainer and has also completed a four year course on Spiritual Direction. Her particular passion and joy is journeying with and supporting people to find growth and healing in their lives
